lasTraX case study - US global biotech client
The challenge:
A US-based global biotechnology company had a commonly seen challenge in Laboratory Animal Science (LAS). Biopharmaceutical LAS teams receive multiple project requests for studies and need to schedule the delivery of tasks by relevant skilled technicians, with the available and designated time slots. In conversation with their clients, Elixir learned that many of the currently available tools used for LAS are disconnected and inefficient for effective study planning, tracking and delivery.
The use of multiple emails, calendars and isolated files e.g., spreadsheets has resulted in a complex process, that is typically maintained through time-consuming daily meetings.
“The iTraX platform allowed configuration and integration with existing tools, used by our clients, to propose a new platform specifically tailored to LAS”.
Head Deployment Technician, Elixir Software
The solution:
Working with the client, the initial configuration of the iTraX platform focused from the submission of study requests, through assignment of the study tasks to the relevant and available technicians, with the final step of requestors viewing updates and progress in real time. The positive feedback from technicians about lasTraX was the view of daily tasks in their regular calendar and the ability to update a common system, often with a single click.
“lasTraX has provided our project teams with clarity and real time information to ensure that everyone is on the same page when it comes to priorities and knowing what needs to be done, by who and when.”
Regulatory Compliance Manager, Global Biotechnology Company
The results:
The client has been working with the lasTraX platform for over 18 months and provided positive feedback on the improvement gains for requestors, technicians and managers. Using a single platform across a number sites and geographies, as well as gaining the ability to export global data for KPI generation through a single click, has dramatically improved efficiencies in LAS studies.
“We now have a single system to capture, schedule and deliver our studies on a global scale and can easily report the throughput of work across our portfolio of projects”.
Senior Manager, Biotechnology Company
